Serums: the real added value to cosmetic treatment

We receive many requests for advice, especially on the use of serums.

Why can they be an effective weapon against ageing?
The serum has a light texture; there is no ‘oily’ part of the cream in its formulation.  The active ingredients contained have a high concentration, which is why it is recommended. Basically, it is effective and suitable for all skin types.

So how is it used?
From oriental culture, where skin care is a real ritual, we have imported a practice called ‘layering’, which basically means ‘overlapping of layers’. A series of actions to be performed in the right sequence to achieve the best possible result for our skin. It is an excellent addition to creams or as a ‘stand alone’ treatment in particular situations.
After thorough cleansing, a small quantity (equivalent to a few drops) is applied to the face to be spread with the fingertips with a centrifugal massage (wide circles outwards).
Once absorbed, a small amount of cream can be applied to supplement the treatment as required.

But how much does this beauty routine cost us....
This is a misconception, a cliché!

Serum applied as a base allows us to use less cream, so there is less waste, and our packs will last longer....and we will gain in beauty!

Is the combination of serum and mature skin correct?
Absolutely not!
As with all cosmetics, there is a product for every taste and need.
For example, for oily skin we can select serums with ingredients that help sebum-regulation or that rebalance the hydration of the skin.
For skin that tends to be dry, we should choose a serum with great moisturising power, which stimulates collagen and helps the production of hyaluronic acid.

The serum can also have an additional function not only as a ‘basic cosmetic’, but as a protector and repairer of oxidative damage to the skin. Thus, daily application not only improves the current state of our appearance, but also consolidates and increases the possibility of preserving all the fundamental characteristics of efficient cell turnover.
